The DataCollector

DataCollector1

The DataCollector is the central collection point for the process data provided by the LauerBoxes. The DataCollector establishes a connection with all LauerBoxes via LAN or WLAN and queries the data periodically. This centralized control ensures reliable operation even if a network may be temporarily overloaded.

Each query requests stored data first (if available) and then the current data set, so that data is passed on in the correct chronological order. Furthermore, each set of data includes a LauerBox time stamp, assuring correct assignment even after lengthy loss of connection.

The DataCollector stores data in ASCII files for further use and also sends them via TCP/IP to connected ControlPanels. There the machinery is visualized seperately from the in-house information management system and is thus available throuout the company or even worldwide in real time, e. g. for production planning and management purposes.

The SMS module permits specific machine states to trigger an automated text message to dedicated user groups (foremen, service, etc.).

The DataImporter

DataImporter

The DataImporter can be utilized if data is to be stored in a database for further processing or quality assurance. The DataImporter process runs in the background, reading in ASCII data at settable intervals and importing this into a database.

In using the DataImporter, data acquisition is entirely independent of the database and company-specific work flows.

The DataAdministration program

DataAdministration

The DataAdministration program offers comfortable organization of DataCollector and LauerBox configuration and data acquisition, and consists of the following features:

  • Machines are classified in groups. Within a group all machine parameters are identical.
  • Machine groups can be assigned to machine types. A database can evaluate these machine types differently.
  • A specific set of machine states is defined for each machine group, which the DataCollector sends to the LauerBoxes when connecting.
  • The data to be gathered (variables) is defined individually for each machine group .
  • The user administration section configures passwords and authorizations for the ControlPanel.
